This is an interesting tool
This is an interesting tool that’s supposed to pick out where would be an ideal location for you to live. Granted, it doesn’t take into account important things like ‘can I find a job in this city/town as a computer programmer,’ and it picked an awful lot of cities in Oregon and Maryland for me, but I would definitely consider living in Providence, Boston, or Baltimore.
Here’s my list:
Eugene, Oregon
Corvallis, Oregon
Charleston, West Virginia
Frederick, Maryland
Salisbury, Maryland
Danbury, Connecticut
Portland, Oregon
Salem, Oregon
Baltimore, Maryland
New Haven, Connecticut
Providence, Rhode Island
Boston, Massachusetts

This quiz wants me to be a foreigner!
1. Portland, Oregon - City of Roses
2. Providence, Rhode Island - New England’s Best Kept Kept Secret
3. Sacramento, California - The River City
4. New Haven, Connecticut - Home of Yale University
5. Honolulu, Hawaii - America’s Tropical Paradise
6. Hartford, Connecticut - The Insurance Capital
I’d have to say, I’d choose Honolulu in a second, it sure sounds better than the insurance capital!?

I wonder if they really score these quizes at all. I specified that I did like the ocean, but not snow. The results?
NYC, Wilmington Delaware, Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Louisville Kentucky, Memphis, Dallas….
Strange. Not my kind of places at all. No Oregon on my list, though.

It would be pretty funny if it just has a pre-set number of cities (say 100 in all of the US) that have paid to be listed on the site, and then it halfheartedly weights them based on city size.

Mine pushed Oregon heavily, too… Maybe because I like the ocean and large cities, but low-cost real estate?

I wonder what answers would be necessary for the survey to spit out a list of locations like these:
Death Valley, CA
East St. Louis, IL
Centralia, PA
Enfield, MA
