I'm going to see this movie tonight...glad to hear it got your thumbs up :)

The Royal Tennenbaums had that effect on me, I liked it well enough when I walked out of the theater, but found myself thinking about it often and had an intense desire to see it again. I like movies like that. Memento was another...

huh, I think Tennenbaums was the only Wes Anderson film I didn't fall in love with immediately. Rushmore and Bottle Rocket would both make my 'favorite 20 movies' list...When Tennenbaums comes out on video, I'll have to give it another shot.

Have you read 'About A Boy'?

I haven't read the book yet, and the movie got put off until tonight...had to watch the Lakers. Bad choice!!

I think the characters in Tennenbaums appealed to a narrower cross section of viewers than Wes Anderson's other films. Give it another shot!

Yeah, the plot development in that one was a little nuts for me, you know. Once it got going it wasn't that bad but I could never really get into it. I guess it was teh main protagonist that turned me off, what a wuss. Now.. If I was in charge of making this thing run smoothly I'd have used much more foam. I really think they did a good job though considering their budget. It's tough to get by these days, especially with the damn kids and nintendo.
