The culture of motorcycling is an amazing thing. I’ve gotten used to the fact that virtually every motorcyclist (hard-assed harley riders who are literally in a gang excluded), will execute some form of the friendly wave or give you a knowing nod when you pass them. Usually it’s a quick downward wave, under the handlebars, and it’s cool to be acknowledged. I have to say that today, I saw something that surprised me. As I was pulling out of my street onto Sepulveda Blvd at around 7:15, two motorcycle cops were riding by. One of them glanced over toward me and gave me this huge wave. Of course, this doesn’t make up for all the fucked up stuff the LAPD has done, but I have to say that it came close to blowing my puny little mind.
